When your baby sister gets married at your wedding venue, there’s extra reason to celebrate!
In honor of the hundreds of toasts we have witnessed at Rosemary, we felt it worthy to commemorate this post with our very own toast to Mr. and Mrs. Schneider:
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Shelbey, the big sister of the bride. Thank you all for being here today. I know some of you have come from so far. And no matter the distance I know it means just so much to Trevor and Kelly and my whole family. I mean it really is just the perfect day. Have you ever seen a more strikingly beautiful bride. And I don’t just say that because we look like sisters. Today we have all witnessed a covenant made and I know just how deep your vows run. You two truly complement each other so perfectly. Kelly, though my memory often fails me, I’ll forever remember how precious and spunky you were as a freckle faced little girl. You could light up a room in laughter, you still do. I, the middle sister instigator, knew just how to poke you to get you all riled up. And somehow you looked up to in my rottenness. I never really told you just how much I admired you. I admired how you could always just let loose and be so silly. Something I still admire, as you’ll see in just a bit on the dance floor! At such a young age you stood strong in your convictions and strove to honor God, even when it cost you dearly. You most certainly out shined me in our softball years as It took me three very long years, often on the bench, to make varsity and you came in as a wee little freshman and were a varsity star. One thing I’m most thankful for is your patience and faithfulness for your husband. Trevor, you are a perfect addition to our slightly dysfunctional family. You bring just enough dysfunctional-ness yourself as I think you lose your keys almost every time we are together. But really, it gives me great pleasure to call you my brand new, very big brother. If anyone’s been around you two for more then 5 minutes it is clear how much you adore each other, especially when you gaze into each other’s eyes for awkwardly long minutes. But really, Kelly and Trevor make such a happy and fantastic couple. Together and individually they’re so kind, gracious and wonderful and you’re so deserving of each other. Ryan and I couldn’t be more thrilled for you both. Kelly, thank you for being a lifelong best friend, a faithful and encouraging shoulder to cry on and also celebrate with and the most loving aunt to Gabriel. Trevor, thank you for loving my little sister with such an overflow of love and patience. I know she feels at home and safe in your arms.
Without further ado, If you can please raise your glasses and join me in a toast to the brand new Mr. and Mrs. Schneider.
